A Minute for Musing God’s Message to You

Silence.

But the people were silent and answered him not a word, for the king’s commandment was, “Do not answer him.” (2 Kings 18:36, NASB 1995)

Sometimes remaining silent in the fact of mockery and threat is best especially when such ridicule is projected against righteousness. For sometimes, silence speaks louder and clearer than words.

CLING!

For he clung to the Lord; he did not depart from following Him, but kept His commandments, which the Lord had commanded Moses. (2 Kings 18:6, NASB 1995)

This was King Hezekiah’s life plan.

Later, fear deceived him into faltering but God mercifully saved Hezekiah from his own foolishness though learning the lesson was not pleasant for him.

No one is perfect. God knows this and, I believe, He helps those who desire and strive to honor Him even when they stumble.

Opposition Placement

They also broke down the sacred pillar of Baal and broke down the house of Baal, and made it a latrine to this day. (2 Kings 10:27)

God is quite capable of handling those who oppose His children.

God > Human Plans

“For the Lord had caused the army of the Arameans to hear a sound of chariots and a sound of horses, even the sound of a great army, so that they said to one another, “Behold, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.” Therefore, they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents and their horses and their donkeys, even the camp just as it was, and fled for their life.” (2 Kings 7:6-7)

God can thwart the plans of anyone and He can break through any obstacle. In this biblical event, the enemy fled and God’s people collected the spoils.

Right Place. Right Time.

“As he was relating to the king how he had restored to life the one who was dead, behold, the woman whose son he had restored to life appealed to the king for her field. And Gehazi said, “My Lord, O king, this is the woman and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.” (2 Kings 8:5, NASB)

God is the master of putting people in the right place at the right time!

God Defends

‘For I will defend this city to save it for My own sake and for My servant David’s sake.'” Then it happened that night that the angel of the Lord went out and struck 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians; and when men rose early in the morning, behold, all of them were dead. (2 Kings 19:34-35)

Remember – God can defend. He is powerful, and when we face those who are against us, God hears our prayers and takes any attack against His own personally.

God Knows

Even the darkness is not dark to You, And the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to You. (Psalm 139:12, NASB 1995)

God knows what you are feeling, and He is there with you.

The Road You’re On

“so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;” (Colossians 1:10 NASB)

Walk on, follower of Christ, for the road you take is called Today.

The Best App

“All the paths of the Lord are lovingkindness and truth to those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.” (Psalm 25:10, NASB)

God is better than any app. He never misleads you and already knows the best route for you to take.
